Another drive arrived with paint marks broken on the stepper screws. The actual fault was a dirty head and a cracked serial socket joint. Alignment is real, but random adjustment is not diagnosis.
Please measure speed and test known-good media first.

Thank you. Factory alignment does not slowly escape because one disk failed to load on Tuesday.
