A friend bought a working C64C with no software and asked what small modern accessory would make the best birthday gift. I am thinking safe power supply first, storage solution second, joystick third.
Anything I am missing before the fun purchases?

Safe supply first without hesitation. If the seller already included one, verify it rather than assuming.
A known-good joystick and a short list of approachable games. Choice paralysis is real when the archive is enormous.
Printed quick-reference card. The useful commands fit on one page and make the machine feel less sealed-off.
