C64C keyboard, Mitsumi type. The space bar works but rocks side to side and only feels decent in the middle. Both return springs are present.
Before I take it apart again: do the little wire stabilizer clips normally sit above or below the plastic tabs? Mine may have been reassembled by a raccoon.
Space bar feels like a diving board

Below the tabs, with the bends seated evenly. Compare both ends before snapping the cap back on. If one clip is flipped it will still work, just badly.
“Reassembled by a raccoon” describes at least half the machines I buy.
That was it. Left clip was upside down. The space bar now feels boring, which is exactly what I wanted.
