Collapsed a work-in-progress to mono and one of the nicest doubled parts almost vanished. Better to learn that now than after sharing it.

Mono, tiny speaker, headphones, low volume, then one listen the next morning before changing anything.
I also capture from real hardware twice. If the second pass surprises me, I check the setup before the mix.
