Patch sounds mellow on one 6581 and like a closed door on another. I know the filters vary; I still get fooled into designing around my favorite chip.
Do you keep alternate cutoff tables, or choose one target machine and accept the personality?

One main target, then a conservative alternate table for the other chip family. I cannot normalize every individual 6581.
Accept some personality. If the melody survives the filter changing character, the patch is probably doing its job.
