For anyone repairing more than one machine: yes, but build it slowly and label both ends of every lead. The value is not magic diagnosis. It is making the same checks the same way each time.

Power indicator, reset access, keyboard dongle, serial loopback, control-port plugs. Mine fits in an old parts organizer.
I built only the control-port plugs and they already saved a lot of guessing. Full harness is next rainy weekend.
