Finished cleaning a breadbin and now I am staring at the cardboard-and-foil shield. It traps heat, but it was also part of the machine.
What do you do on a daily-use system? I am leaning toward keeping the bottom shield and leaving the top off.
RF shield: back on, modified, or shelf?

Depends on the board and your local interference situation. I usually prioritize airflow, but I keep every original part labeled with the machine.
Top shield goes in a bag with the serial number. No irreversible changes and no lost parts.
