Where do you put the loop point?

ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION
A 42-second tune has an eight-bar intro and a main section that loops cleanly. Repeating the intro makes the loop feel obvious; skipping it makes the track feel shorter than it is.

Do you write a separate turnaround for the repeat or embrace the hard loop?

Separate turnaround if you have the pattern space. Even two changed bars can make the return feel intentional.

Hard loop is fine when the intro is clearly an intro. I would rather hear a confident seam than padding.
