Bought a machine with little adhesive sinks on VIC, SID, PLA, both CIAs, and three logic chips. Temperatures are reasonable and the adhesive is unknown.
I am inclined to leave well enough alone unless one is loose. Any reason to remove the decorative mountain range?
Heat sinks on every chip?

If they are secure and not shorting pins, removal may create more risk than it solves. Document temperatures and inspect periodically.
